Converting rollers

Reglass builds rollers for converting processes with diameters up to 420mm and lengths up to 6m.

Capable of higher speed and of lower weight, carbon rollers normally achieve twice the critical speed of corresponding steel rollers yet weigh 10-15 times less. The stiffness and lightness of carbon also allows wider film working formats.
 
Due to lower inertia, plant start times are much reduced leading to increased production efficiency and, whereas metal rollers often have to be powered, carbon roller weight is such that even light film traction can move the roller resulting in cost savings. The lower tare weight of dancing rollers, or rollers installed on load cells, enabling film tension to be read with faster, greater precision from load cells.

Diameter reduction and greater machine compactness; improvement of aerodynamic flow; reduction of surface contact; more design freedom;  reduction of structural loads on machines.
